Why is our product the best for Pelvic Wellness Support?
Based on my own discomforts when I was pregnant, I designed this product with the feedback of health professions, OB/GYNs, midwives, physical therapists and other Moms over the past 20 years. Our design is tried and tested! Our team consistently listens to recommended ideas to improve our products. Take a close look at the features in the photos to see what makes our product different, better, and higher quality.
Our design is so successful that over the years there have been copycat products on the market of lesser quality. They have cut corners on design, unaware of the implications to your wellness and healing. You are supporting a small family business, US workers, and original designs by buying our products directly. Thank you!
What are the symptoms of a Inguinal or Femoral Hernia?
Inguinal/ Femoral hernia compression therapy treatment during pregnancy relieves pain and reduces symptoms.
You are not alone if you have inguinal hernias. This may not be a hot topic of conversation, but many women during pregnancy experience pelvic pain and hernias. This condition often occurs during pregnancy due to pressure on the abdomen due to your growing baby. This pressure weakens your abdominal muscles and can cause intestines to poke through, causing a hernia. It is essential that you treat this condition.
The symptoms of inguinal hernias are:
- a soft lump or protrusion in your groin area.
- a dull ache in the area of the lump or groin area
- increased pain during physical activity, sneezing, coughing, lifting and/or bending over
- difficulty lifting the leg on the side of the affected area
- relief of symptoms while lying on the opposite side of the groin pain
If your hernia is giving you severe pain and continuously sticks out more and more, you should call your doctor. In the case that you are experiencing nausea, vomiting, redness and tenderness from the pain of the hernia, it is important to go to the Emergency Room to ensure you do not damage your intestines. This is rarely the case, but it is important to prevent it. For more information, check out our article on inguinal hernias!
How to reduce pain and treat an Inguinal Hernia during pregnancy
If you have an Inguinal Hernia, it is recommended that you:
- Avoid intense exercise, movement or lifting, and wear the Inguinal Hernia Support Belt Kit during any such movement to hold the hernia in. These award winning groin bands can fasten onto a belly band while also providing support for pelvic pain, pressure and heaviness. They are also easy to adjust, and are soft and comfortable on a sensitive Inguinal Hernia. Place the compression support discs directly onto where the hernia is for added compression. The compression groin bands are also effective on varicose veins.
- Take caution lifting heavy objects: ask for help to lift – if this is not possible think outside the box, can you put the object in a cart to wheel it into the house (ie groceries), can you bend down to comfort a child instead of lifting?
- Sleep on your back or the opposite side of the affected area
- Use a cold therapy pack to relieve pain and reduce swelling and to massage the hernia back into the groin area. The Ultra Soft Hot and Cold Therapy Packs from BabyBellyBand are recommended, as they contain a gel that allows a soft and comfortable massaging process for the hernia where there may be pain or swelling.
- Most often doctors recommend the ‘wait and see’ protocol where surgery is not recommended during pregnancy and because hernias often do not persist beyond pregnancy they ‘wait and see’ what the hernia will look like after you give birth.
